San Andres is distinguished by its protective coral reef and beautiful beaches, the majority of which are fringed by forests of coconut palms. The climate is pleasant, an average of 27 degress centigrade, and refreshing breeze all year round.

UNESCO included the Arhipelago in the World Biosphere Reserves, under the name of Seaflower, because of the great biodiversity, ecosystem and beautiful countryside.
